After our incredible time on the Galapagos Islands we flew to Quito, the capital of Ecuador to spend 4 more days in the area before it was time for Colombia. Quito surprised us a bit, as it was very clean and organized compared to other South American cities. We went through our usual program of discovering the food in the city :). Quito has a fantastic central market, where locals go to eat for lunch. Of course, this was our spot as well. Between all the meals we strolled around the city, discovering its new and its old parts. On our last night there, we even came upon the military band playing local dance music for the people on the streets! It was so much fun and such a great atmosphere. You won’t ever find this in Germany :).
