We arrived in Talca the day before New Year’s Eve and spent 3 days here. Talca was not at all what we thought at first, expecting I guess a lovely wine region town. Instead we got a more or less simple, but very authentic Chilenean town. It took us by surprise in a very positive way, especially because it was hit hard by the earthquake in 2010 in the region. The people however were just lovely, the food very fresh and good and there was lots of local heart and character spread around town. The wine region around Talca was just as authentic and we loved the 2 Â vineyards we visited for being very beautiful, yet not posh. It were wonderful family run businesses with great wine!
