These are the pictures from our first day in the Amazon. We flew by plane from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado. From there we drove 1 hour by boat along the big Amazon river Madre de Dios. Next we walked for 2 hours through a completely muddy rainforest to reach Lake Sandoval. From their we took another boat across the lake for 40 minutes to reach the Sandoval Lake Lodge. We already saw many animals on the way to the lodge, and even more during our night walk before dinner that evening.
