Melbourne

We spent three great days in Melbourne, discovering the hometown of my friend Sara. So packed with a list of places and things to do, we strolled around the city. Melbourne reminded me a lot of London in many places, except that London does not have a beach :). It clearly is a trendy city full of artists, coffee and food lovers. So of course it was a lot about food and coffee for us. The Chinese dumplings are especially famous and since we are not travelling to China, we had them here.  Our airbnb hosts recommended us a place to go to and when we arrived we were faced with a restaurant that was booked out for 2 days :(. But then luckily a table became free as a couple finished early and they squeezed us in. Oh how delicious!!! And you could see how they make them right next to you! In terms of coffee, yes Melbourners seem to be obsessed with coffee. Which I love!!!! Even the Italiens we stayed with the first 2 nights said, the coffee here is better than in Italy. Well, if that doesn’t say it all. We had coffee where all they have on the menu are the types of beans they offer and you then choose how you like them served, i.e. as a latte, cappuccino, etc. It was soooo good! Even Mathias fell in love with the coffee here. We also stayed at really cool airbnb places with really nice and welcoming hosts. All in all, we really enjoyed our time here. The city felt really chilled and people did not seem stressed at any time. That is the big difference to London of course! Nice place to grow up in Sara :).

Now we will pick up our campervan for 5 days to see more of Victoria. We probably won’t have any Internet during this time, so we will be in touch again on the 14th.
