Before it was time for us to head to India, a country of extremes and one that will be challenging for the mind to take in fully, we decided to prepare ourselves mentally on an island in Thailand: Ko Samui. By now, Ko Samui is mainly a resort island for package tourists. Just like on Mallorca, there are also still beautiful and quiet places left on other parts of the island, where the chilled and relaxed Thai atmosphere still exists. This is where we spent our time. We flew here directly from Laos and spent 4 days relaxing, drinking tons of coconuts, eating great Thai food and getting massages. And of course, if there is a local market around, you can be sure we find it. And so we did and with it everything on display and for sale from sharks to eals to frogs to little turtles :(. Still a sight that makes me a bit sad and I will probably never get used to. Anyway, after 4 chilled days, we embarked on an 18 hour bus and ferry journey to Bangkok for 2 last days there.
