We spent 2 days in the Drakensberg Mountain region in KwaZulu-Natal and went hiking there. We arrived on a beautiful sunset evening after 13 hours of driving and found ourselves on a stunning campsite surrounded by animals. Our first day was wonderfully sunny and we did a 8 hours hike to the so called Amphitheater. In the evening we drove 1 1/2 hours further to the Cathedral Peak area. Again we arrived with a beautiful sunset backdrop of the mountain. The next day was misty and it was drizzling though, so instead of a full day hike we did 2 half day hikes instead, allowing us to warm up inbetween. Despite the weather it was still beautiful. Everything felt quite mystic.
